How we collect and use your personal data
1. About this notice
This notice explains how Atlantic Edge Technologies Limited ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you deal with us: as a customer or a customer's staff member, when you enquire about our services, visit our website, supply goods or services to us, or apply to work with us or work for us.
We are Atlantic Edge Technologies Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company number 758264), Sunhill, Killorglin, Co. Kerry, V93 H317. For this notice, we are the "controller" of your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018.
Contact us about your personal data: email , phone , or write to us at the address above.
2. Our two roles
When we decide how your data is used (for example, your contact details as a customer, or an enquiry you send us) we are the controller, and this notice applies.
When we look after data for our customers (for example, the emails, files, devices and networks we manage or support for a business or household) we act on our customer's instructions. Our customer decides how that data is used, and their own privacy notice applies. Section 9 explains this in more detail.

6. Who we share it with
We only share your personal data where needed for the purposes above. Recipients include:
- Service providers that help us run our business, under written contracts that protect your data: providers of our email and document systems, support ticketing and customer records, backups, electronic signing, secure password storage, email delivery, website hosting, marketing emails, website security and visitor statistics, and an AI assistant our staff use to help with support work.

We do not sell your personal data.
7. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Most of the data we control is stored in the European Economic Area (EEA). Some of our service providers are based in, or give support from, other countries such as the United States or the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we make sure it is protected by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (for example for the United Kingdom, or for US companies certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us for more information.

| Enquiries and quotes that do not go ahead | 2 years after our last contact |
| Website server logs | Only as long as needed for security and fixing problems, then deleted |
| Website visitor statistics | Kept indefinitely, as they do not identify anyone |
| Marketing emails | Until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop, or 2 years after our last contact if you have not become a customer (we keep a record of your unsubscribe so we do not email you again) |
| Job applications that do not lead to employment | 12 months, or longer if you agree to us keeping your application for future vacancies |
| Staff records | 6 years after employment ends; payroll records as required by tax law |
After these periods, we securely delete the data or anonymise it.
9. Data we handle for our customers
When we provide IT services, we often have access to personal data that belongs to our customers, such as the contents of email and file storage, user accounts, device information, network activity and security logs. We handle this data only to provide the services our customer has asked for and on their instructions.
- Managed IT services: our Master Terms and Conditions include a Data Processing Addendum setting out how we protect this data. A list of the third-party providers we use for these services is available to our customers on request.
- Systems we install: we usually keep remote management access to the systems we install, so we can support them later. Depending on the system, this can let us see information held on or passing through the system, such as the names of connected devices and network usage. We only use this access to provide support you ask for or to keep the system secure and working, and you can ask us to remove it at any time. The equipment we install is managed through the manufacturer's cloud portal and, for some sites, through management software that we host for you on servers in the EU. Details of the providers involved are available to our customers on request.
- Websites we host: we host some customer websites on servers in the EU. The customer decides what is published on their website and how enquiries sent through it are used.
- Passwords and access details: any passwords or access details you give us for your systems are stored in a password manager and used only to support you.
If your employer or another organisation uses our services and you want to exercise your data protection rights over data they hold, please contact that organisation. If you contact us instead, we will pass your request on to them and help them respond.
10. How we protect your data
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the data we handle. These include multi-factor authentication on our accounts, security monitoring and encryption on our own devices, storage of passwords and access credentials in a password manager, and limiting access to customer systems to authorised staff who need it. Our staff are bound by confidentiality.
11. Our website and cookies
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme, stored only in your browser. We use a privacy-friendly analytics service hosted in the EU to count visits and see which pages are popular. It does not use cookies and does not store your IP address, so it does not identify you. Our web server keeps short-term logs for security. Our website is protected by a security and performance service, which may set a strictly necessary security cookie.
12. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access);
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (rectification);
- ask us to delete your data (erasure), where we no longer need to keep it;
- ask us to limit how we use your data (restriction);
- receive data you gave us in a commonly used electronic format, or have it sent to another organisation (portability), where our legal basis is contract or consent;
- object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it).
You can object to direct marketing at any time.
To use any of these rights, contact us at . We may need to confirm your identity. We will respond within one month, which can be extended by two further months for complex requests (we will tell you if so). There is normally no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission: www.dataprotection.ie.
13. Changes to this notice
